Swimmer Drowns Off Lido Beach: Sarasota Police

SARASOTA, FL — A Sarasota resident drowned Sunday in waters just north of Lido Public Beach, the Sarasota Police Department wrote in a Facebook post.

The swimmer suffered a medical emergency while in the water.

Nearby beachgoers swiftly pulled him from the water and members of the Sarasota County Fire

Department performed life-saving measures on the man, police said.

Despite this, the victim died from drowning, the agency said.
