U.S. Rep. Vern Buchanan Sets Town Hall Meeting
U.S. Rep. Vern Buchanan has set a town hall meeting with constituents for later this month in advance of a vote on health care.

SARASOTA, FL — Constituents of U.S. Rep. Vern Buchanan who want to voice their opinions on healthcare, taxes, immigration and other hot topics will soon get their chance. The Republican representative has announced a Town Hall meeting for later this month.
Buchanan had originally planned to host a Town Hall in early April, but advanced the schedule in light of an impending vote on the American Health Care Act. House Speaker Paul Ryan has indicated his desire to set a vote on the proposed Obamacare replacement before April.
“With Congress moving quicker than expected on health care, I wanted to make sure my constituents had a chance to be heard and voice their opinion,” Buchanan said in a Wednesday statement. “I’ve held 74 town halls over the years and look forward to hearing what people have to say.”

The Town Hall is now set to take place on March 18 at 11 a.m. at the Sudakoff Center auditorium, 5845 General Dougher Place in Sarasota.
Buchanan’s town hall comes as other elected officials have shied away from hosting their own, or have found their events disrupted by protesters. Buchanan's district covers portions of Sarasota, Manatee and Hillsborough counties.
