A stunt at a Florida high school's pep rally Thursday morning turned dangerous when a fire broke out in the school's gym.
Eight total people were taken to the hospitals, according to the Delray Beach Fire Department, including seven students and one adult.

The seven students had minor respiration injuries, but the injuries to the adult performer were serious, according to the department, which said the performer "caught fire" and suffered burns.
The "seasoned performer" was supposed to be blowing fire, the Palm Beach County School District said on Twitter. Reports of an explosion were inaccurate, the district said.

Social media video from the scene at Atlantic Community High School in West Palm Beach showed a fire getting out of control on the floor of the gym.
The scene turned chaotic as teachers and administrators attempted to calm the anxious crowd of students, who were celebrating the start of spring break.
