What’s Closed New Year’s Day 2023 In Sarasota?

SARASOTA, FL — With Sarasota-area residents celebrating New Year's Day Monday, here are some closures and schedule changes affecting government offices, facilities and services over the long holiday weekend.

City of Sarasota government offices: All administrative offices will be closed Monday.

City of Sarasota Solid Waste Department: There will be no garbage, recycling and yard waste pickup on Monday. Collection will be delayed by one day. Monday's collection will take place Tuesday and Tuesday's collection will take place Wednesday.

Arlington Park and Aquatic Complex: Closed Monday.

Lido Pool: Closed Monday.

Payne Park Tennis Center: Closed Monday.

Robert L. Taylor Community Complex: Closed Monday.

Van Wezel Performing Arts Hall: Closed through Monday.

Bay Runner: Will operate on a regular schedule.

Sarasota County Breeze Transit: Regular Breeze Transit bus routes and Breeze Plus services won’t be serviced on Monday. The Breeze Siesta Key and Breeze OnDemand services will operate on a modified schedule from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. The administration office and ticket outlets are closed.

Sarasota County Public Libraries and Historical Resources: All library branch and historical resource locations are closed Monday.

Sarasota County Recreation Centers: All recreation centers are closed Monday.

Knight Trail Park Pistol and Rifle Range: Closed through Tuesday.

Sarasota County Public Schools: Schools are closed through Friday. Students return to school on Jan. 8.

Sarasota County Government Offices: All government offices will be closed Monday.

Sarasota County Solid Waste Collections: There will be no garbage, recycling or yard waste pickup on Monday. All collections will be delayed by one day this week: Monday’s pick-up will take place on Tuesday, Tuesday’s collection on Wednesday, Wednesday’s collection on Thursday, Thursday’s collection on Friday and Friday’s collection on Saturday.

Bee Ridge Chemical Collection Centers: Closed Monday.

Central County Landfill: Closed Monday.

Citizen Convenience Center: Closed Monday.

Re-Uz-It Shop: Closed Monday.

Florida Department of Health: Closed Monday.

Sarasota County Tax Collector: Closed Monday.
