What’s Open, Closed On Christmas 2024 In Sarasota
Here are some closures and schedule changes for Sarasota-area government offices, facilities and services on Christmas.
SARASOTA COUNTY, FL — With many Sarasota-area residents celebrating Christmas on Wednesday, here are some closures and schedule changes affecting government offices, facilities and services over the holiday weekend.
City of Sarasota Government Offices: All administrative offices will be closed Monday through Wednesday.
City of Sarasota Solid Waste Department: Garbage, recycling and yard waste pick-up will not be affected by the holiday.

Arlington Park and Aquatic Complex: Closed Tuesday and Wednesday.
Bay Runner: Operates regular hours on Christmas day, 7 a.m. to 10 p.m.

Lido Pool: Closed Monday through Wednesday.
Payne Park Tennis Center: Closed Tuesday and Wednesday.
Robert L. Taylor Community Complex: Closed Tuesday and Wednesday.
Van Wezel Performing Arts Hall: Closes at 4 p.m. on Tuesday and closed Wednesday.
Sarasota County Breeze Transit: Regular Breeze Transit bus routes and Breeze Plus services won’t operate Wednesday. These services will resume Friday.
The 76 Flyer will keep regular service hours that day while the 77 Siesta Islander will end service at 8 p.m. on Wednesday.
Breeze administration and ticket offices will be closed.
Sarasota County Public Libraries and Historical Resources: All locations are closed Wednesday.
Sarasota County Recreation Centers: All recreation centers will be closed Wednesday.
Knight Trail Park Pistol and Rifle Range: Closed through Thursday.
Sarasota County Public Schools: Schools are closed through Jan. 3. Classes resume Jan. 6.
Sarasota County Government Offices: Most government offices will be closed Tuesday and Wednesday.
Sarasota County Solid Waste Collections: There will be no garbage, recycling or yard waste pick-up on Wednesday. Wednesday’s collection will take place on Thursday, and Thursday’s pick-up will take place on Friday.
County Chemical Collection Centers: Closed Wednesday.
Central County Landfill: Closed Wednesday.
Citizen Convenience Center: Closed Wednesday.
Florida Department of Health in Sarasota County: Closed Wednesday.
