Woman Bit Coworker’s Cheek, Hit Him With Steel Bar On I75: FL Troopers

MANATEE COUNTY, FL — A Bradenton woman was arrested after assaulting a coworker in a construction zone on Interstate 75 north at mile marker 222 on Tuesday morning, according to a Florida Highway Patrol news release.

When troopers responded to the construction zone around 9:20 a.m., they learned that an argument between two employees for a construction company turned violent.

During the physical confrontation, Finale Mareus, 37, bit the victim’s cheek and hit him in the head with a steel rebar, FHP said.

The victim was treated at the scene by EMS but turned down transport to a local hospital .

Mareus was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and booked into the Manatee County Jail.
