TAMPA BAY, FL Looking for something fun to do this weekend? There’s something for every interest — from the start of the Florida State Fa—ir to the Woofball Puppy Bowl to family-friendly science-themed events.

Florida State Fair

The Florida State Fair runs through Feb. 17 at the Florida State Fairgrounds in Hillsborough County. The fair boasts the largest carnival midway in the U.S., an agricultural program and interactive animal exhibits, a circus, and other attractions.

Cigar Box Guitar Festival

The fifth annual Cigar Box Festival features live music all weekend at various venues in Bradenton’s Village of the Arts, including Cottonmouth Southern Soul Kitchen, Monarch and Art Life Music. It coincides with the district’s monthly art walk.

Springs Market

A mini Springs Market takes place Friday, 5 to 9 p.m., at Grand Central Brewhouse in St. Pete. The market features 5801 Print House, Old Florida Vibes, Into the Wilderness art, the Florida Springs Council and Tampa Bay Watch.

Colony Cove Flea Market & Bake Sale

Colony Cove in New Port Richey hosts a flea market on Saturday starting at 8 a.m. Items for sale include furniture, appliances, lamps, pictures, Christmas decorations, and dishes, pots, pans, and silverware.

Storybook Street

The Early Learning Coalition of Sarasota County hosts its fifth annual Storybook Street on Saturday, 9 to 11 a.m., at Ed Smith Stadium. The book-themed event features about two dozen local organizations representing visual arts, dance, drama, music, movement and more. Books will be distributed at each vendor booth.

Hope Spot Festival

This downtown Dunedin festival scheduled for Saturday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. celebrates the Florida Gulf Coast Hope Spot. The day kicks off with a community clean-up and also features information about ocean conservation and sustainable practices, art and craft vendors, live music, hands-on activities, live animals and more.

Manatee County Habitat for Humanity 30th Anniversary Party

Manatee County Habitat for Humanity celebrates its 30th anniversary with a ‘90s-themed party Saturday, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., in the parking lot at 401 7th Street W., Bradenton, directly across from the Manatee Performing Arts Center. There will be a DJ playing ‘90s hits, local vendors, a kid’s zone, food trucks, and more.

St. Petersburg Science Festival

More than 50 exhibits offering hands-on science, technology, engineering, art and math, all hosted by organizations from across Tampa Bay, will be set up on the University of South Florida’s St. Petersburg campus on Saturday starting at 10 a.m. The festival is held in conjunction with MarineQuest, the open house of the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission's Fish and Wildlife Research Institute.

Bark in the Park

The Humane Society of Tampa Bay’s Bark in the Park event returns to Tampa’s Curtis Hixon Park on Saturday, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. The event includes a one-mile Walk for the Animals along Tampa’s beautiful downtown Riverwalk, followed by a family- and pet-friendly festival with entertainment, food & drinks, dozens of amazing vendors, a Kid Zone, fun activities for pets and their people, and a showcase of adoptable dogs.

Kids and Kubs Annual Mayor’s Game

Babe Ruth's grandson, Tom Stevens, will throw out the first pitch at the Kids and Kubs annual Mayor's Game on Saturday, noon, at Northshore Field in St. Petersburg in commemoration of the centennial of Babe Ruth playing in the city. The Kids and Kubs will play Mayor Ken Welch and his "City Hall Stars," composed of city council and senior staff members.

Woofball Puppy Bowl

Dog Bar St. Pete hosts its annual Woofball Puppy Bowl for local dogs on Sunday, 2 to 6 p.m., before kickoff time for the big game. The event offers an afternoon of mini football games, adoptable pups and drinks.
