World Of Beer To Celebrate WOBtoberfest On Saturday

While Oktoberfest officially ended Oct. 7, World Of Beer knows the celebration had gone too soon, so might as well throw your own Oktoberfest.

World of Beer Sarasota's third annual WOBtoberfest is set for noon to 2 a.m. Saturday at World of Beer, 8216 Tourist Center Drive, University Park. It's free to attend.

The festival features Oktoberfest beers on tap, live music, German-style fare, mug holding contests, beer stein races, giant Jenga and cornhole. World of Beer, has more tahn 500 beers from more than 40 countries, will also be partnering with Radeberger, Paulner, and Hacker Pschorr for the event. 

“We will be celebrating both WOBtoberfest and three years of being a part of the WOB family,” said World of Beer Sarasota General Manager Josh Jones. “We want to say thank you to all of our friends that continue to join us every day, and cheers to what is sure to be our best WOBtoberfest yet!”

Looking to maximize your sampling? There will be $20 mugs with one Oktoberfest fill of their choice and $10 refills. 500 Club members will receive $5 off mug purchases. Chefs Chris Kohatsu and Adriel Zahniser will cook authentic German cuisine and food from Pitas Republic, Casa De Pizza, Anna’s Deli and Crispy Arepas will also be served.

Live music starts at 1 p.m., including performances by Jason Longoria, Big League Chew, and Highway to Hell AC/DC Tribute. 

It's not all for the adults. The event will have a children's area with face painting and tattoos by Bogey the Clown, who will be donating all of his tips to Shriner’s Children’s Hospital.
