Young Drowning Victim's Body Found

The body of 6-year-old Lamontea Taylor was recovered Monday morning near Anna Maria Island.

The boy had been playing with family members off Coquina Beach early Saturday evening, when he was pulled underwater by rip currents. Family members say that he never resurfaced.

Bradenton Beach police confirmed on Monday, April 22, that Lamontea's body had been found by a Fish and Wildlife Officer at 10 a.m., according to Bradenton.com. Lamontea was a student at Samoset Elementary School.

A search had been called off Sunday evening, and the boy was presumed dead.
