35,000 TECO Customers, 10,000 Duke Customers Without Power

Tampa Electric Co. is reporting that ​35,819​ customers have lost power due to downed power lines.

TAMPA, FL -- As a line of severe thunderstorms move east out of Hillsborough County Sunday afternoon, Tampa Electric Co. is reporting that 35,819 customers have lost power due to downed power lines.

Duke Energy said 10,813 customers in Pinellas County are currently without power. There is no word on when power will be restored. Duke crews are still assessing the damage.
