10 Arrested In Tampa Street Takeover: FL Highway Patrol
Hundreds gathered for a coordinate street takeover in Tampa Saturday night, the Florida Highway Patrol said.
TAMPA, FL —Ten people were arrested during a coordinated street takeover event in Tampa Saturday night, according to a Florida Highway Patrol news release.
The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office assisted with the arrests.
The event, which was organized via social media, drew a crowd of hundreds and a large number of participating vehicles, FHP said.

Participants closed an intersection to do donuts, drift, and engage in other knowingly illegal and reckless driving activities.
In addition to the 10 arrests, there were also three firearms and $6,000 in assets recovered.

Those arrested include:
- Jakob Bryan, 20, Land O’Lakes, unlawful racing on highway while engaged in coordinate street takeover
- Jakiya Burr, 24, Lake Wales, knowingly riding as a passenger in unlawful racing or street takeover
- Jaewon Foster, 29, Haines City, knowingly riding as a passenger in unlawful racing or street takeover and possession of cannabis, less than 20 grams
- Ethan Marton, 20, Holiday, knowingly riding as a passenger in unlawful racing or street takeover
- Marquis Pinkins, 29, Haines City, unlawful racing on highway while engaged in coordinate street takeover and fleeing to elude
- Alex Rodriguez-Lazu, 20, Lakeland, unlawful racing on highway while engaged in coordinate street takeover and fleeing to elude
- Ramon Santiago, 20, Lakeland, knowingly riding as a passenger in unlawful racing or street takeover
- Grant Watson, 18, Wesley Chapel, unlawful racing on highway while engaged in coordinate street takeover
A 17-year-old Tampa boy was charged with unlawful racing on highway while engaged in coordinated street takeover, fleeing to elude, possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of cannabis, less than 20 grams.
A 17-year-old Wesley Chapel boy was charged with knowingly riding as a passenger in unlawful racing or street takeover.
It’s Patch policy not to name minors who have been charged with a crime unless they were charged as an adult. It’s unknown whether they were charged as a juvenile or an adult.
Those arrested were brought to Orient Road Jail in Hillsborough County, while the juveniles were taken to the Hillsborough County Juvenile Assessment Center.
