TAMPA, FL — They may have a humorous name but there's nothing amusing about the time and resources they've dedicated to performing good works in Tampa.

The 13 Ugly Men Foundation will be honored at a public ceremony hosted by the City Council of Tampa Feb. 7 at 9 a.m. at Old City Hall.

The 13 Ugly Men will be recognized for their unwavering commitment to service, from supporting nonprofit organizations to organizing neighborhood cleanups and food drives. Since 1994, the 13 Ugly Men have donated more than $2 million to Tampa charities.

In December 1998, The 13 Ugly Men Foundation was officially incorporated as a 501(c)3 not-for-profit organization.

Over the years, the 13 founders has grown into a group of 31 members who operate with no administrative overhead, meaning everything they raise goes back into the community.

The next event is The 13 Ugly Men Invitational golf tournament on Feb. 24 at the TPC Tampa Bay golf course in Lutz benefiting the Boys & Girls Club of Tampa Bay. The invitation is already sold out.

It will be followed by the foundation's annual Derby Party May 6 at the St. Pete Pier.
