2 Children Shot At Home In Tampa Sunday; 12-Year-Old Killed

The Tampa police are investigating a shooting at a home on East 111th Avenue Sunday that left a 12-year-old dead and a 14-year-old injured.

TAMPA, FL — Tampa police are investigating a shooting at a home on East 111th Avenue Sunday that left a 12-year-old dead and a 14-year-old injured.

Police arrived at the home around 2 p.m. and found the 12-year-old dead from a gunshot wound to the upper body. A 14-year-old was taken to the hospital for treatment for a gunshot wound to the upper body and is now in stable condition, police said.

Neither of the children lived in the home where they were found with other children.

Detectives said the shooting does not appear to be random and are interviewing witnesses and an adult who lives in the home but was not on hand during the shooting.
