1 FL Hospital Among Best In The World, New Ranking Says

FLORIDA — One hospital in Florida is among the best in the world, while 20 are ranked among the best in the U.S., according to a new analysis that ranks the top hospitals in 30 countries.

The 2025 World’s Best Hospitals ranking from Newsweek and its data partner Statista narrows down hundreds of thousands of hospitals worldwide to the 250 best.

The lone Florida hospital that made the 2025 ranking is the Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville at No. 50.

Hospitals were scored based on an online survey of about 85,000 medical experts and publicly available data from post-hospitalization patient surveys on their general satisfaction, Newsweek said.

Florida hospitals among the best in the U.S. in the 2025 ranking are:

• No. 48 - Cleveland Clinic, Weston
• No. 87 - Tampa General Hospital, Tampa
• No. 127 - Morton Plant Hospital, Clearwater
• No. 132 - Sarasota Memorial Hospital, Sarasota
• No. 140 - Baptist Hospital of Miami, Miami
• No. 143 - St. Joseph’s Hospital - BayCare, Tampa
• No. 174 - AdventHealth Orlando, Orlando
• No. 220 - Orlando Health Orlando Regional Medical Center, Orlando
• No. 231 - Baptist Medical Center - Beaches, Jacksonville Beach
• No. 305 - Cape Canaveral Hospital, Cocoa Beach
• No. 312 - AdventHealth Wesley Chapel, Wesley Chapel
• No. 322 - Mease Countryside Hospital, Safety Harbor
• No. 342 - Memorial Hospital Miramar, Miramar
• No. 368 - South Miami Hospital, South Miami

Hygiene and patient/doctor ratios were also considered, along with a Statista survey on whether hospitals use “Patient Reported Outcome Measures,” which are surveys filled out by patients about their experience.

The top 10 hospitals in the world included four U.S. hospitals:

• No. 2: Cleveland Clinic, Cleveland, Ohio
• No. 3: Toronto General - University Health Network, Toronto, Canada
• No. 4: The Johns Hopkins Hospital, Baltimore, Maryland
• No. 5: Karolinska Universitetssjukhuset, Stockholm, Sweden
• No. 6: Massachusetts General Hospital, Boston, Massachusetts
• No. 7: Charité - Universitätsmedizin Berlin, Berlin, Germany
• No. 8: Sheba Medical Center, Ramat Gan, Israel
• No. 9: Singapore General Hospital (SGH), Singapore
• No. 10: Universitätsspital Zürich, Zürich, Switzerland

U.S. hospitals in the top 25 worldwide included:

• No. 13: Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center in Los Angeles
• No. 17: Stanford Health Care - Stanford Hospital, Stanford, Connecticut
• No. 19: The Mount Sinai Hospital, New York City
• No. 21: Brigham and Women's Hospital, Boston

Along with U.S. hospitals, the ranking includes hospitals from Australia, Austria, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, Chile, Colombia, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, India, Israel, Italy, Japan, Malaysia, Mexico, Netherlands, Norway, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Taiwan, Thailand, the United Arab Emirates, and the United Kingdom.
