3 Tampa-Area Events Make Top New Year's Eve Parties In Florida

TAMPA, FL — Looking for a memorable way to ring in the new year? Three Tampa Bay-area events recently were named among the best in Florida to celebrate New Year's Eve, according to one travel blog.

Trips to Discover released its top 13 spots to say farewell to 2022 last week. The blog's mission, according to its website, is to "inspire you to travel more and "to turn daydreamers into fanatical travelers."

The three spots that made the list near Tampa Bay include New Year’s Eve Cruise with Pirate Water Taxi in Tampa, Light It Up! Clearwater in Clearwater and the New Year’s Eve Pineapple Drop Party in Sarasota.

The New Year's Eve in Tampa Ring lets revelers celebrate on the water with a front-row seat to the city's fireworks. The 1-hour cruise includes champagne and party favors, according to the event's website.

Light It Up! Clearwater allows residents and visitors to watch the sunset, grab some grub and then ring in the new year with fireworks at midnight. Fireworks are launched from Sand Key Park at midnight but should be watched at the southern part of Clearwater Beach.

In Sarasota, the Pineapple Drop is the highlight of the city's annual New Year's Eve block party. The celebration kicks off at 1 p.m. and continues past midnight with live music, bands, carnival rides, games and plenty of food and drink.

Spots that made Trip to Discover's list offer "spectacular fireworks shows and live entertainment as well as dancing, food, and drinks as you wait until the clock hits midnight."
