5 FL Health Care Facilities Among ‘Great Hospitals In America’
The "Great Hospitals in America" list from niche media company Becker's Healthcare includes accomplished Florida hospitals.
FLORIDA — Five hospitals in Florida are among 100 of the best in the country, according to a new national report.
The “Great Hospitals in America” list from the Chicago-based niche media company Becker’s Healthcare, includes many of the same hospitals as rankings of U.S. News & World Report, Healthgrades, The Leapfrog Group and the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services.
“These hospitals are widely recognized for their clinical excellence, commitment to patient safety, innovative initiatives, research efforts, education and high levels of patient satisfaction,” the company said.

Becker’s said the list of 100 hospitals is not exhaustive and is not an endorsement of the included hospitals. Hospitals submitted nominations and Becker’s editorial team conducted research.

- AdventHealth Orlando, 601 E. Rollins St. in Orlando. AdventHealth, a 1,400-bed hospital system that serves at least 500,000 patients each year, has accolades in cardiology, orthopedics and pulmonology.
- Jupiter Medical Center, 1210 S. Old Dixie Hwy. in Jupiter. Jupiter Medical, with 248 beds, is the area’s sole independent, not-for-profit hospital and has conducted at least 10,000 robotic surgeries since its 2010 opening. Among Jupiter Medical's accolades are acknowledgements from Newsweek, Forbes, U.S. News and World Report and the Leapfrog Group.
- Orlando Health, various locations. Operating as a nonprofit, Orlando Health is home to the only pediatric and adult Level I trauma program in central Florida and is the sole state-accredited Level II adult trauma center in Pinellas County. Five Orlando Health hospitals were among the 2024 recipients of "A" grades for patient safety from Leapfrog.
- Sarasota Memorial Health Care System, 1700 S Tamiami Trail in Sarasota. The county’s inaugural community-owned hospital, Sarasota Memorial has 1,075 beds, while Sarasota Memorial Hospital is the single trauma center in Sarasota County and a regional referral center for advanced care. Leapfrog has awarded Sarasota Memorial with "A" grades in patient safety since 2016.
- Tampa General Hospital, 1 Tampa General Circle in Tampa. This 981-bed hospital is an University of South Florida affiliate. Organ transplants, neurosurgery, heart care and cancer care are among its specialties. Tampa General regularly lands on U.S. News and World Report list of best hospitals nationwide.
