  1. A Temple Terrace man was arrested by police after pointing a green laser at a Tampa police helicopter pilots while in flight, according to authorities. Police reported a laser coming from an apartment complex near Busch Boulevard and 56th Street in Temple Terrace. The suspect is charged with one count of misuse of a laser lighting device. (Tampa Patch)
  2. Nurses and a local patient rights attorney are upset that Florida does not require CPR certification. Investigators with WFLA found a delay at a nursing home in Tampa led to a citation from the state. The Florida Agency for Healthcare Administration or AHCA has issued a plan of correction to the nursing home. (WFLA)
  3. Tampa Bay Rowdies head coach Neill Collins is heading to South Yorkshire, England. Collins signed a two-year deal with the Barnsley FC in the English Football League Oneon Thursday. Collins has a history with Sheffield United FC in South Yorkshire and previously played in the area. (St. Pete Catalyst)
  4. Tampa's iconic Bern's Steak House restaurant is temporarily closed for renovations. The restaurant is expected to reopen to the public on July 25. A Taste of Bern's at Haven nearby will offer guests some menu items to hold guests over on select dates. (Subscription: Tampa Bay Times)
  5. A 66-million-year-old triceratops named Big John is now on display at Glazer Children's Museum in downtown Tampa. Big John was discovered in 2014 in South Dakota. The fossil was purchased by the Pagidipati family in 2021 for a record $7.7 million. (Tampa Patch)
