FLORIDA — As Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis asks the 2023 Florida Legislature to look at passing a permitless gun carry law, residents in communities throughout the state are increasingly concerned about the proliferation of gun violence as evidenced by this week's stories of a 12-year-old killed in Tampa, a mother and 7-year-old daughter caught in crossfire in Clearwater and a man shot on the basketball courts at Fossil Park in St. Petersburg.
