Teen's Body Found In Tampa Ditch

Tampa Police are investigating the Wednesday afternoon discovery of a girl's body in a Forest Hills ditch.

TAMPA, FL — The Wednesday afternoon discovery of a girl's body in a ditch in the Forest Hills area is under investigation by the Tampa Police Department.

At 6:19 p.m., police announced the body belonged to a 15-year-old girl "who died of an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound." Police say it is unclear if the shooting was accidental or intentional.

The girl's body was found around 2:49 p.m. Jan. 19 in a ditch between West Bougainvillea Avenue and West Seneca Avenue, north of Ola Avenue.
