Boil Spot Hot Pot BBQ opens in USF Tampa's Uptown

The new eatery offers All-You-Can-Eat Hot Pot as well as Korean BBQ.

There is a new hot pot BBQ place open on Fowler Avenue in USF Tampa's Uptown right in front of M.D. Oriental Market. The restaurant is called Boil Spot Hot Pot BBQ and they offer unlimited hot pot as well as Korean BBQ for an extra fee. Customers cook their own food in the hot pot and bbq grills. The restaurant was known as Hong Kong House in the past.

There are tons of options for things to grill including spicy pork belly, bulgogi beef, beef brisket, and chicken. Diners can also enjoy a number of seafood options such as clams, crawfish, mussels, and more.

Diners pick their protein and veggies as well as sauces from their sauce bar. Some sauces include satay, Thai chili, sweet and sour, peanut, etc. Veggies, fruits, and desserts revolve around the restaurant on a conveyor belt.

The concepts seem similar, but the selection at Hot Pot BBQ on Fowler is far superior. There is a noticeable agreed in meat quality and also seafood quality for consumers. The restaurant is spacious with plenty of seating for families and large parties.

Hot Pot BBQ joins a growing movement of hot pot spots entering the Tampa Bay area. It has been well-established in the nearby Orlando area. Diners should expect to spend between $27 and $30 on their meal for the buffet. There are no a la carte options.

There is a fee for those who do not finish their food so beware of that. The restaurant reserves the right to impose a surcharge of $13.99 a pound for wasted food. There is also a 2-hour limit for the buffet.
