HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, FL — The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal crash that occurred on Interstate 75 in Hillsborough County Friday night. According to troopers, a Kia EV6 driven by a 71-year-old Bradenton was heading south on I-75 just north of the Selmon Expressway when it began to slow for stopped traffic ahead and collided with the rear of a Ford truck towing a trailer, driven by a 56-year-old Spring Hill man. The driver of the Kia suffered fatal injuries. the driver and a passenger in the truck were not injured. The crash closed portions of I-75 until 2 a.m. Saturday.
