A Chamberlain High School student was hospitalized and another arrested following a Tuesday morning stabbing on the campus.

TAMPA, FL — As Tampa Police Department detectives continue to investigate a Tuesday morning stabbing on the Chamberlain High School campus that sent one girl to the hospital, they've announced an arrest in the case.
According to the agency, officers were called out to the 9401 North Blvd. school around 9:30 a.m. March 28 after receiving a report about a girl being stabbed during a fight. Police say the stabbing occurred when two 15-year-old girls got into a fight during the break between their second- and third-period classes.
One of the girls stabbed the other one during the fight, an email from the police department said. Other students stepped in to break up the fight, the agency noted.

"A steak knife thought to be the weapon used in the stabbing was found inside her pocket," a Tuesday evening email from police said.
Both girls involved in the altercation are in the ninth grade, the agency noted. The teen who was stabbed was taken to a local hospital with injuries that have been described as non-life threatening.
The 15-year-old accused in the stabbing has been charged with aggravated battery, possession of a weapon on a school campus and carrying a concealed weapon. Patch is not identifying her due to her age.
Chamberlain High School parents were notified about the incident via a phone message sent out by the school's principal, police said.
Further information is not being released at this time, including the victim's name. It remains unclear what sparked the fight.
