- Clean energy advocates are holding a rally outside the Frederick B. Karl County Center, 601 E Kennedy Blvd., Tampa, today, June 22, starting at 8:30 a.m., as the Hillsborough County Commission meet for a regular meeting. The rally is a protest against TECO's use of "expensive, dirty fossil fuels driving rising electricity rates." (Tampa Patch)
- Chef John Fraser of Lilac at EDITION Tampa in Water Street is launching The Industry Table in Tampa, to provide accessibility to those who work in the restaurant industry. Industry workers will enjoy around 60 to 70 percent off of menu items and dine in a communal setting. (That's So Tampa)
- Shumaker lawyer Sean P. Bevil has been elected president of the Hillsborough Bar Young Lawyers Division (YLD). He was sworn in on June 15 and will serve in the role for one year. Bevil works on the firm's Litigation and Disputes Service Line. (Florida Politics)
- A baby anonymously surrendered to a Florida Safe Haven box at Ocala Fire Rescue has been adopted. The new parents were trying to start a family for a decade before deciding to adopt. Florida Safe Haven laws allow parents to abandon their unharmed newborns who are not more than a week old at any safe haven facility recognized by Florida without fear of prosecution. (WFLA)
- A Tampa area man drove his SUV into a gas station in Seffner and pinned a man walking into the store, according to authorities. Police do not believe the incident was accidental and the driver is now facing charges. Both people involved in the incident were taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. (WTSP)
