Mother Of Dead Infant Arrested In Mississippi: Tampa Police
The baby's body was found at the University of Tampa in April. The 19-year-old mother was charged with manslaughter, police said.
TAMPA, FL — A 19-year-old woman was recently arrested and charged in the death of an infant whose body was found at the University of Tampa on April 28, according to a Tampa Police Department news release.
The agency worked with the U.S. Marshals Task Force to arrest Brianna Moore in Quitman, Mississippi on Friday.
Moore was charged with aggravated manslaughter of a child, child neglect with great bodily harm, failure to report death and unlawful storage of human remains, police said.

She’s being held at Lauderdale County Jail in Mississippi awaiting extradition back to Tampa.
After university safety employees were told about a possible miscarriage on campus, they found the body of the baby, who was later identified as Moore’s child.

An autopsy showed that the child died as a result of asphyxia and multiple rib fractures. Their death was ruled a homicide, police said.
