Detour Scheduled For I-275 Drivers Headed To Howard Frankland Bridge

The detour will run from 11 p.m. Tuesday, March 28, to 5 a.m. Wednesday, March 29.

TAMPA BAY, FL — Drivers traveling south on Interstate 275 toward the Howard Frankland Bridge will have to detour off the interstate using State Road 60 (Exit 39) from 11 p.m. Tuesday, March 28, to 5 a.m. Wednesday, March 29.

This closure is necessary for crews to install overhead sign structures as part of the I-275 (Howard Frankland Bridge) southbound bridge project between Pinellas and Hillsborough counties.

Electronic message boards and temporary signage will assist southbound I-275 drivers traveling around this closure via the posted detour route of Memorial Highway (SR 60), Courtney Campbell Causeway (SR 60), Bayside Bridge(County Road 611) and Roosevelt Boulevard (State Road 686).

Other roadways (Kennedy Boulevard, Dale Mabry Highway and Gandy Boulevard) will remain accessible and may provide an alternate route if needed.

The $865.3 million, 5.8-mile projects is expected to be completed in later 2025.
