Discarded Fireworks Causes House Fire: Tampa Fire Rescue
Improperly discarded fireworks caused a home and car parked there to go up in flames early Friday morning, Tampa Fire Rescue said.

TAMPA, FL — Improperly discarded fireworks caused a home to go up in flames early Friday morning, Tampa Fire Rescue wrote in a Facebook post.
Crews responded to a trash fire that spread to the front corner of a three-story home in the 7700 block of S. O’Brien Street and a car parked in the driveway just before 1 a.m.
Firefighters put out the fire within 20 minutes, TFR wrote.

They didn’t find anyone in the home once the fire was out. There were no injuries.
Fire rescue investigators determined the discarded fireworks caused the fire. They were in a trash bin between the home and the car.

“Tampa Fire Rescue reminds everyone that prior to disposing of used fireworks in the trash, thoroughly douse them with water, then place them in a sealed metal trash container and keep the trash container outdoors, away from your home or vehicles,” the agency wrote.
