Driver Of 18-Wheeler Dies After Driving Into I-75 Canal: FHP
A tractor-trailer truck driving on I-75 lost control on the wet road and drove into the Tampa Bypass Canal, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

TAMPA, FL — Divers recovered the body of a truck driver who drove into the Tampa Bypass Canal on Interstate 75 early Monday morning, according to a Florida Highway Patrol news release.
The driver, a 64-year-old Mississippi man, lost control of his 18-wheel tractor-trailer truck on the wet roadway near milepost 263 around 2:30 a.m.
The truck rotated and hit the contract barrier wall along the outside shoulder before driving over it, FHP said.

The trailer came to rest hanging from the bridge while the cab separated and fell into the canal.

Divers from the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office found the cab submerged about 40 feet with the dead driver inside Monday morning, FHP said.
