DUI Driver Fell Asleep In McDonald’s Drive-Thru: Hillsborough Sheriff

The woman, who had previously been charged with a DUI, was driving on a suspended license, the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office said.

APOLLO BEACH, FL — A woman was arrested for driving under the influence after falling asleep in a McDonald’s drive-thru early Thursday morning in Apollo Beach, the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office wrote in a Facebook post. (Watch a video from the arrest below.)

Tiffany McLain, 40, was found passed out behind the wheel just beyond the drive-thru window of a McDonald’s on U.S. Highway 41.

“She even put her car into drive when deputies woke her,” the sheriff’s office said.

McLain provided two breath samples, which registered at .19 and .195 respectively.

She was previously arrested for a DUI and was driving on a suspended license.

"This type of irresponsibility infuriates me," Sheriff Chad Chronister said. "She could have seriously injured others with her ridiculous decision to get behind the wheel intoxicated. I commend our deputies for their swift handling of this potentially dangerous interaction."
