1. Nearly 6,000 people in Hillsborough County are in isolation or quarantine due to COVID-19. There will be an emergency meeting today from 1 p.m. to 3:30 p.m at 901 E. Kennedy Blvd., Tampa to discuss mandating face masks . (Tampa Patch)

2. Caribbean restaurant Ti Bamboo is now open in St. Petersburg. It is offering dishes like oxtail and beans and "escoveitched whole fish." (Creative Loafing Tampa)

3. Florida Education Commissioner Richard Corcoran is pledging enforcement actions after Broward and Alachua counties enacted mask mandates in schools. The state government has threatened to withhold salaries and attack school funding over mask rules as hospitals continue to fill with COVID-19 patients, leading to a tit-for-tat with the Federal Government. 4. Indie Flea is returning this fall with a new location at Hotel Haya in Ybor City. The market showcases artists, bakers, and makers from the Tampa Bay area and was previously held in Tampa Heights. (That's So Tampa)

5. Police in Tampa say a series of gunshots inside a downtown Tampa apartment building on Monday was an evicted resident taking out his anger. He was served with a 30-day eviction notice back on July 21st for failing to pay rent. He is now charged with shooting into an occupied dwelling and culpable negligence.(Fox 13 Tampa Bay)
