Tom Brady Donates $100K In Milton's Aftermath

Hurricane Milton's destruction included killing at least 16 people, spawning deadly tornadoes and leaving millions without power in Florida.

TAMPA, FL — Former Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady is lending his philanthropic efforts to residents impacted by the deadly Hurricane Milton storm by donating $100,000.

Milton killed at least 16 people in Florida after rushing Siesta Key as a Category 3 system, spawning several tornadoes and heading eastward before eventually landing in the Atlantic Ocean - leaving millions of Floridians to face power outages and destruction.

Brady, who spent three seasons with the Buccaneers before retiring in February 2023, announced the donation Thursday via X. CBS News reported Brady currently lives in Miami.

"Keep those impacted by these storms in your prayers, look out for your neighbors and continue to help out any way you're able. Stay safe, and stay strong Florida," Brady tweeted.

He added the funding could be used to gather food, water and first aid for residents in need.

Additionally, Brady said grocery-delivery service GoPuff is matching his donation.

GoPuff is partnering with the Volunteer Florida Foundation to provide a service that allows people to directly donate products. (See the donation link here.)

"It’s as simple as selecting the product you want to donate—we’ll handle the rest. Every donated product is matched up to $1M," GoPuff tweeted.

Brady's donation came a day after international singer Taylor Swift gave $5 million to help Floridians after Milton and Hurricane Helene, Feeding America said on Instagram on Wednesday.

"This contribution will help communities rebuild and recover, providing essential food, clean water and supplies to people affected by these devastating storms," Feeding America CEO Claire Babineaux-Fontenot said in a statement. "Together, we can make a real impact in supporting families as they navigate the challenges ahead."
