Fire Destroys Abandoned Home In Tampa

Hillsborough County Fire Rescue spent Thursday afternoon fighting a fire that destroyed an abandoned home on North 66th Street in Tampa.

TAMPA, FL — Hillsborough County Fire Rescue spent Thursday afternoon fighting a fire that destroyed an abandoned home on North 66th Street in Tampa.

Firefighters received a call from a neighbor next door at 2702 N 66th St., reporting flames and smoke coming from the house.

Engine 32 was the first engine on the scene and began battling the blaze with a hand line while additional crews arrived and established a water supply from a nearby hydrant, conducted searches of the house to confirm there were no occupants and pulled additional handlines to help fight the fire.

It took crews 20 minutes to extinguish the blaze. There were no injuries.

The Hillsborough County Fire Investigations Unit is investigating the cause.
