Former Sonny’s BBQ Restaurant Catches Fire In Tampa: Watch

A vacant restaurant in the 2400 block of E. Busch Boulevard went up in flames Tuesday morning, Tampa Fire Rescue wrote in a Facebook post.

Firefighters responded to the two-alarm fire at the former Sonny’s BBQ location just before 7 a.m. after receiving multiple 911 calls about heavy smoke coming from the roof.

Japanese Restaurant Opens in Westchase

A new Japanese restaurant that mostly serves ramen dishes has opened in the Westchase area, Fox 13 said.

Minano Ramen is now open at 11909 Sheldon Road.

"We noticed that there was a lack of Asian cuisine in the area," Tom Kuo from Minano Ramen said. "We wanted to bring our Ramen to the Westchase area, and we saw a popular demand."

Armature Works’ Pizza Joint Opens Harbour Island Location

The Fold, a Three Oaks Hospitality pizzeria concept that’s operated out of Armature Works, has opened a second location on Harbour Island, Creative Loafing reported.

The new eatery at 601 S. Harbour Island Blvd. offers many favorites served at Armature Works, as well as an expanded menu.

In its new location, The Fold shares a space with Lily’s Sweet Treats.

Fazoli’s Chain Opens in Lutz

Italian chain Fazoli’s has expanded in Florida with a new location in the greater Tampa area.

Its newest restaurant is in Lutz at 24791 FL-54, according to VerdictFoodService.com.

“We’re proud to open our sixth location in Florida, which underscores our commitment to expanding in the state,” president Gregg Nettleton said. “We have incredible fans in Florida who continue to welcome us from day one. From waiting in opening day lines to ordering their fair share of unlimited breadsticks, their dedication to the brand makes each opening special.”
This is the brand’s sixth location in the Sunshine State.

New York-Style Breakfast Sandwich Food Truck Opens Downtown

Bacon Egg’N Cheese, a New York-style breakfast sandwich food truck, recently debuted its new location in downtown Tampa at 411 N. Florida Ave.

The food truck also serves up Chilean classics, according to its Instagram page.

It operates a second truck in Brandon at 3410 S. Kings Ave.

Cook Out Brand Eyeing Tampa Bay Area

Southern fast-food burger chain Cook Out appears to be expanding into the Tampa Bay area.

The company bought two deeds from Boston Market restaurants last month at 5501 E. Fowler Ave. in Temple Terrace and 16215 N. Dale Mabry Highway, Fox 13 reported.
