Hard-Working Tampa Mom To Receive Gift Of Wheels On MLK Day

TAMPA, FL — Reliable transportation is key to keeping a job and supporting a family, especially in a time of economic uncertainty.

Renee is a mother of three teenage daughters and travels from client to client with her housekeeping business. Because of personal hardship, she lost her home and is now living at a hotel with her children.

She went to Wheels of Success for assistance with car repairs but discovered the repairs would cost more than the car was worth. Thanks to donations from community partners like Santander Consumer USA, Renee and her family will receive a 2018 Dodge Journey that will enable her to get to work with all of her cleaning equipment and get her children to school and their activities.

This will be the first of eight donations from Santander Consumer USA scheduled to take place this year. It’s part of a commitment by Santander Consumer to donate 30 vehicles to Wheels of Success through December of 2025 to help families obtain and sustain work, supporting financial and economic inclusion for communities in need.

The community is invited to visit with Renee and her family as they receive the keys to her 2018 Dodge Journey on Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Monday, Jan. 16, at 10 a.m. at Wheels of Success, 13116 N. Florida Ave., Tampa.
