Helicopter Carrying 4 Crashes In Water Near Peter O. Knight Airport
Tampa police found the helicopter submerged but said all the passengers made it out safely.

TAMPA, FL — Tampa police officers responded to the Peter O. Knight Airport on Davis Islands Thursday at 5:08 p.m. following a report of a helicopter submerged in the water.
Tampa police said they found the helicopter about 200 yards from shore near the Davis Islands Yacht Club. Four people were on board the helicopter at the time of the crash but none were injured. With the help of nearby jet skiers and the Tampa police marine unit, all four were safely brought to shore.
The Tampa Police Department is coordinating with local and federal agencies on the investigation into the crash and recovery of the helicopter.
