Hurricane Irma Aftermath: Davis Islands Kids Raise Money

The pint-sized Tampa residents are selling drinks and baked goods to help Hurricane Irma victims.

TAMPA, FL – Running a lemonade stand is a childhood rite of passage, meant to teach kids the value of a dollar. But several children on Davis Islands are using their lemonade stand to give back.

The kids' stand, set up Saturday on the corner West Davis Boulevard and Mamora Avenue, offers passersby free lemonade, cookies and brownies. There's a catch though: Any donations provided will go to buy supplies to assist folks struggling following Hurricane Irma. Specifically, donations will go to residents in the Florida Keys.
