Jeni’s Splendid Ice Creams Heading To The Heights District
The James-Beard award-winning ice cream maker is planning to open in summer 2020.

TAMPA, FL — Jeni’s Splendid Ice Creams is heading to The Heights District with a planned opening in summer of 2020. The store will be 1,600 square feet, making it Tampa's largest store with other locations planned around the bay area.
Jeni's is originally from Columbus, Ohio, and the owner, Jeni Britton Bauer, has more than 24 years of industry experience. Her book, "Jeni's Splendid Ice Creams at Home," won the James Beard award in 2011 for Best Baking and Dessert Book.
Jeni's claims to use no synthetic flavoring, dyes or mixes in her ice cream. Flavors include Skillet Cinnamon Roll, Pineapple Upside Down Cake, Frose Sorbet, Churro and more.

The new store will be located at 305 W. Palm Ave. at The Pearl at The Heights with another location coming soon to Sparkman Wharf in Channelside.
“We are excited to bring Jeni’s Splendid Ice Creams to the The Heights District - and to the Tampa Bay area,” said Chas Bruck, co-developer of The Heights District and Armature Works. “We see the brand as being a perfect fit for The Heights. This addition continues the growth of the retail segment outside of Armature Works.”

“Our truck tour came through Tampa in 2018 and I completely fell in love with the city’s energy - the strong sense of community, the entrepreneurial spirit,” said Bauer. “We couldn’t be more excited about opening at The Pearl and Sparkman Wharf.
Jeni's continues a trend of ice cream scoop and popsicle shops that have been popping up all over Tampa Bay in recent years. It is a little surprising that there haven't been more chains like this considering how hot Florida is during the summer months. One thing is certain, Tampa will have plenty of choices soon for cooling off.
