Karol Hotel Earns Coveted 4 Diamond Designation

CLEARWATER, FL — Opened in 2019, The Karol Hotel has earned the coveted AAA Four Diamond designation.

Each year, AAA reviews hotels in several categories, including cleanliness and condition, management and style of operation, exterior and public areas, guest rooms and guest bathrooms.

The highly sought-after Four Diamond status is awarded to fewer than 6 percent of the thousands of hotels inspected and approved by AAA on an annual basis.

The Karol Hotel is centrally located in Feather Sound between Clearwater, St. Pete and Tampa, and is the first member of Marriott’s Tribute Portfolio in Pinellas County.

“This Four Diamond designation confirms that The Karol Hotel and her fabulous amenities, from the rooftop lounge to the stylish lobby bar and restaurant, are crown jewels in Feather Sound and the larger Tampa Bay area,” said Adam Duffey, general manager. “I’m very proud of our loyal, hard-working staff who have persevered through all of last year’s challenges to make sure that this hotel reached its full potential for our guests.”

In January, AAA unveiled a contemporized version of its highly acclaimed AAA Diamond Program, modernized to meet the needs of today’s travelers. A new Diamond designation reflecting AAA’s professional inspector reviews using updated guidelines sets the program apart from services that rely on unverified hotel and restaurant ratings. The Karol Hotel is named for and inspired by Karol Kelly Bullard, “Miss Karol K,” wife of Fred Bullard, CEO of The Bullard Group, developer and owner of the property. The boutique hotel features 123 guest rooms and suites; the Vantage Rooftop Bar overlooking Tampa Bay; the signature K Club Bar & Bistro; a combined 7,340 square feet of event space, including a ballroom and executive conference rooms; and an outside pool and fitness center.

A towering tribute to Miss Karol K, the hotel’s design and décor are a stylish reflection of her remarkable life – from her early days as Miss Florida and Florida’s first “weather woman” to her current role as community activist and philanthropist.
