Man Charged In Fatal Road-Rage Shooting: Hillsborough County Sheriff

A man was shot and killed in a road-rage incident on U.S. 301 in Riverview, the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office said.

RIVERVIEW, FL — A man was charged with murder in a Sunday afternoon road-rage shooting that left another man dead in Riverview, the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office said.

Kentavious Gholston, 26, was arrested Monday and charged with second-degree murder with a firearm, aggravated assault with a firearm, tampering with physical evidence and domestic violence battery by strangulation.

Deputies responded to reports of a man that had been shot on U.S. Highway 301 and Bloomingdale Avenue around 2:15 p.m.

They found a man with upper body trauma. He was immediately brought to a nearby hospital, where he died from his injuries, the sheriff’s office said.

"A Sunday afternoon turned into a nightmare that cost a life, leaving a family shattered by this senseless violence," Sheriff Chad Chronister said. "This reckless act shows a complete disregard for human life. Violence is never the answer, and this tragedy could have been entirely avoided."
