Man Killed In Road-Rage Shooting: Hillsborough County Sheriff

A man was killed in a road-rage shooting in Riverview Sunday afternoon, the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office said.

RIVERVIEW, FL — A man was killed in a Sunday afternoon road-rage incident in Riverview, according to a Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office news release.

Deputies responded to reports of the shooting on U.S. Highway 301 near Bloomingdale Avenue around 2:15 p.m.

When they arrived, they found the victim with upper body trauma, the sheriff’s office said.

He was brought to a nearby hospital, where he died from his injuries.

Witnesses told detectives that the suspect fled the scene.

"There is never a justification for an altercation to end in violence," Sheriff Chad Chronister said. "Our detectives are fully committed to this investigation, and we will ensure that justice is served for the victim."
