Man Who Applied To HCSO Had Relationship With 14-Year-Old: FL Sheriff
A 19-year-old who applied to work for the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office had a sexual relationship with a 14-year-old, HCSO said.

HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, FL — A man who applied to work for the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office as a detention cadet was arrested for “an inappropriate and sexual relationship” with a 14-year-old child, the agency said in a news release.
Detectives began investigating Kristian Anderson, 19, on Aug. 16 after he engaged in a sexual relationship with the minor.
They learned that he met the victim on social media and “engaged in sexual acts” with them in July, the sheriff’s office said.

The investigation began while Anderson was in the early stages of the application process to work for the sheriff’s office.
He was a member of the HCSO Explorer Program from January to May.

"I am outraged that someone who aspired to serve and protect this community could commit such a vile act," Sheriff Chad Chronister said. "Our deputies and detectives are dedicated to ensuring that those who target our children are held accountable for their crimes."
Anderson was charged with one count of lewd or lascivious battery and one count of lewd or lascivious molestation.
