Police Seek Tips On Homicide Of Young Mother Found Next To SUV With Toddler Inside

TAMPA, FL — The Tampa Police Department is seeking information on the death of a mother in New Tampa who was found lying next to a sports utility vehicle with a sleeping toddler strapped to a car seat inside.

Shortly after 10 p.m. on Monday, officers were called to the 10700 block of Pictorial Park Drive in the Easton Park subdivision in New Tampa and found a woman in her 20s on the ground dead of upper body trauma next to a Ford EcoSport SUV.

Her little boy was found unharmed sleeping in his car seat in the back seat of the SUV.

The toddler is now in the hands of a relative.

Detectives are speaking with neighbors although the woman did not live in the neighborhood.
