Mother Who Injured Son Charged With Child Abuse: Hillsborough Sheriff
A mother injured her 18-month-old son by slamming him into a crib when he wouldn't nap, the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office said.

BRANDON, FL — A mother was arrested Sunday for injuring her 18-month-old son in September, according to a Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office news release.
Alexis Hardacre, 27, was charged with child abuse.
Deputies responded to Brandon Regional Hospital on Sept. 15 after the boy was brought in with multiple injuries, including wounds on the face, neck, and arm, as well as bruising behind the ear and on the right thigh, the sheriff’s office said.

Investigators learned that Hardacre repeatedly slammed the child into a crib and restrained him with excessive force several times.
She admitted to causing the injuries, telling investigators that she lost patience when the baby refused to sleep during nap time.

"This case is gut-wrenching. No child should ever endure the pain and suffering inflicted on this innocent baby," Sheriff Chad Chronister said. "We will always protect the most vulnerable members of our community and ensure those who harm them are held accountable."
