Motorcyclist Dies After Driving Into Road Sign: FL Highway Patrol

The motorcyclist lost control while passing traffic on a wet road Sunday evening in the Thonotosassa area, Florida Highway Patrol said.

THONOTOSASSA, FL — A motorcyclist died after losing control and crashing on a wet road Sunday evening, according to a Florida Highway Patrol news release.

The 24-year-old Wesley Chapel man was heading north on U.S. 301, north of Dead River Road, around 6:30 p.m.

He lost control while passing other vehicles, overturned and drove off the road, FHP said.

Once on the shoulder, he hit the sign and suffered fatal injuries.
