Motorcyclist Thrown Into Tampa Bay In Bridge Crash: FL Highway Patrol
The motorcyclist's body was recovered from the water by Tampa police divers after the crash, Florida Highway Patrol said.

HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, FL — A man died after being thrown into Tampa Bay and his motorcycle burst into flames in a Saturday night crash on Gandy Bridge, according to a Florida Highway Patrol news release.
The motorcyclist, a 23-year-old from Pinellas Park, was speeding west on the bridge around 10:30 p.m.
Near the Pinellas County line, he overtook and hit the back of an SUV driven by a 41-year-old Orlando man, who was also heading west on the bridge, FHP said.

The SUV came to a stop in the travel lanes of the bridge while the motorcycle hit the outside barrier wall and burst into flames.
The driver was thrown into Tampa Bay, FHP said. His body was later recovered by Tampa police divers.

The SUV’s driver suffered non-life-threatening injuries in the crash and was treated at a local hospital.
