1. Hillsborough County opened a new site this week at Progress Village Park in Tampa for free COVID-19 testing and the Pfizer vaccine, including the Pfizer booster shot for those who are eligible. (ABC Action News)

2. A $5,000 reward is being offered by Crime Stoppers of Tampa Bay for tips leading to the arrest of the person responsible for the fatal shooting of Nadji Patrick Rivera of Tampa. (Tampa Patch)

3. The Pasco County School District is planning to aggressively help students who have fallen behind in the pandemic with a new program. The program is planned to run through December. (Bay News 9)

4. DeSoto Square Mall in Bradenton is set to be sold at bankruptcy auction starting October 11th. It sits on 57.86 acres in Bradenton and housed a 569,675-square-foot mall. Redevelopment plans are already in the works. (Business Observer)

5. Alzheimer’s research at the University of South Florida (USF) in Tampa is showing promise. The effectiveness of a low-dose THC and a potential Alzheimer’s vaccine to defeat the progressively debilitating disease is being used by a research to try to help his mother. (83 Degrees Media)
