OMG! Cookie Cupcakes Set For Sprinkles Debut
Sprinkles is rolling out its 'cookie cupcake' at locations across the country, including Tampa, on Wednesday.

TAMPA, FL — When it’s time for something sweet, folks who can’t decide between a cookie or a cupcake will soon have what might be the perfect solution thanks to Sprinkles. The bakery chain that has taken the nation by storm is debuting its brand new “cookie cupcake” on Wednesday.
The new tempting treat will be available at Sprinkles’ locations across the country, including the relatively new Tampa location. Cookie Cupcakes follow a recipe that appeared in “The Sprinkles Baking Book.” The confection is a chocolate chip-studded yellow cake that’s lined with its own cookie crust. The topping is a brown sugar frosting that’s been dusted with crunchy cookie pieces.
Sprinkles’ founder Candace Nelson explained the inspiration behind the menu addition.

“You know I’m a fan of a great mash-up, and since Sprinkles is famous for its ice cream cupcake mash-ups, why not a cookie cupcake mash-up,” she asked. “Here, I take two of my favorite things in the world – cupcakes and chocolate chip cookies – and make them one.”
Nelson insists the sum is truly greater than its parts, adding up to “heaven.”
