Patel Conservatory holds Sixth Annual Performing Arts College and Career Fair
The Sept. 14 fair is for students interested in pursuing a college degree and/or career in dance, music or theater
Some kids seem born to be on stage. For those who want to pursue the spotlight long-term, the Straz Center's Sixth Annual Performing Arts College & Career Fair could be a game changer.
The event, on Sunday, Sept. 14, was designed for students interested in pursuing a college degree and/or career in dance, music or theater. During the free part of the fair, representatives from many educational institutions will meet with students and answer questions. A few of the institutions attending in previous years include Austin Peay State University, Carnegie Mellon University, Savannah College of Art and Design, Florida State University - College of Music, University of Florida - College of the Arts, Nova Southeastern University, New York Conservatory of Dramatic Arts, University of South Florida - School of Theatre and Dance, University of the Arts and Greensboro College.
Additionally, workshops are accessible with a 2025 Performing Arts College & Career Fair Workshop Pass, available for $20 online. This pass provides student admission to workshop opportunities presented by visiting colleges and faculty. Prior workshop topics include: Musical Theater Audition Technique, Functional Voice Training for Musical Theatre, Choreography Workshop, Ballet/Modern Dance Hybrid Masterclass and Preparing for a Music Audition. Parents may observe student workshops or attend parent-centric workshops with the purchase of an additional wristband.
