1. Polk County Sheriff's Office deputy Josiah Perry has resigned after being arrested for driving while impaired. He was not injured in the crash that led to his arrest. He was hired in 2019 and would have been fired if he did not resign. (WTSP)
2. Due to a worker shortage partially from the pandemic, Florida lawmakers will consider proposals to put nearly $100 million into nursing homes and boost pay of state correctional officers. The money would only temporarily solve the issues both groups face. (Creative Loafing Tampa)
3. Local teacher Richie Floyd and former City Council member Jeff Danner are set to face off today for the District 8 seat on the St. Petersburg City Council. Polls have shown strong support for Floyd. (Florida Politics)
4. The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office is searching for a person who they say fired multiple shots at a deputy early Sunday morning. The shots missed the deputy who then returned fire as the person drove away. (Patch Tampa)
5. Tampa Electric's Manatee Viewing Center has reopened for the first time since the COVID-19 pandemic started. The reopening comes at a critical time as at least 984 manatees have died so far in 2021, the most ever on record. There is a push right now to put manatees on the endangered species list. (ABC Action News)
