TAMPA, FL — The Tampa Bay area’s streak of sunny days and high temperatures in the 80s may come to an end before the weekend is out. Forecasters at the National Weather Service expect a cold front to move into the region early next week, shaking things up a bit before it arrives.
Residents and visitors with big outdoor plans for the weekend can breathe a sigh of relief though. Friday is expected to kick things off with mostly sunny skies and a high around 80 degrees. The overnight low is forecast to drop into the low 60s with partly cloudy skies likely.
Saturday is expected to start out with beach weather thanks to mostly sunny skies and a forecast high in the low 80s. Those conditions begin to change heading into the overnight hours when a slight chance of showers if forecast. The low Saturday is expected to drop into the mid-60s.

Rain chances are anticipated to strengthen to about 50 percent on Monday when the day’s high is forecast to reach only the mid-70s. Those rain chances stick around into Tuesday when the high is expected to only climb to about 71 degrees.
Courtesy of the cold front that should clear the area in the early part of the workweek, the weather service expects high temperatures to drop back down into the upper 60s on Wednesday and Thursday both.
Small craft operators might want to take care on local waters as the front makes it way past early next week. Forecasters expect potentially hazardous conditions for small boats during the early part of the week.
