Rain In Tampa Bay’s Weekend Forecast
Rain is likely this weekend, but there's good news for Gasparilla revelers in regard to its projected arrival.

TAMPA, FL — As thousands of Tampa Bay area residents prepare to partake in the 101st Gasparilla pirate invasion, it appears as if Mother Nature might be keeping watch over the festivities. Forecasters at the National Weather Service anticipate a rainy weekend ahead, but it appears that the first drops won’t fall until after pirates storm the city of Tampa.
Friday is expected to kick the weekend off with cool and comfortable conditions throughout West Central Florida. Forecasters anticipate partly sunny skies with a high in the upper 60s. Conditions are expected to chill in the overnight hours when a low in the mid-40s is expected along with partly cloudy skies.
Folks with invasion plans or other outdoor activities in the cards on Saturday may want to bring jackets along. While partly sunny skies are anticipated in the daytime hours, forecasters say Saturday’s high may not break the 60-degree mark in much of the region. Those rain chances move in at roughly 30 percent as the evening arrives and rise to about 60 percent through the night, according to the weather service. The overnight low is expected to fall to the upper 40s.

Folks at The Weather Channel project a slightly rosier picture for Saturday night revelers. Forecasters there say rain won’t play a significant role in Tampa Bay’s weather until Sunday. It’s probably best to play it safe though and bring an umbrella along for any outdoor nighttime activities on Saturday.

The weather service expects Sunday could be a bit of a washout with a 50 percent chance of rain forecast during the daytime hours. The high is anticipated to reach the low 60s in much of the region. Storms should clear out heading into the overnight hours when mostly cloudy conditions and a low around 50 are expected.
Rain chances dry up heading into the workweek. Forecasters anticipate mostly sunny skies on Monday with a high in the mid-60s. A chilly night with a low in the mid-40s is anticipated, as well.
While severe weather conditions aren’t anticipated over the coming week, forecasters are warning that next week’s dry conditions could bolster fire weather chances.
